The Trump team must be living in an alternate reality

Kellyanne Conway, on CNN, said that Russia is not “a big story”. Wow. So the undisclosed meetings by Jeff Sessions, to the Don Jr. debacle, to the undisclosed second meeting with Putin at the G20, and all the other shady Russian business with the Trump campaign are not a “big story”? I beg to disagree. Meanwhile, Scaramucci, on the same network, said that the mainstream media is focused on “nonsensical” stories as well as that the President is not sure Russia meddled in the US election. Then you have Trump on Twitter screaming “Fake News” and touting Obama-driven economic success! … Continue reading The Trump team must be living in an alternate reality

Dear Trump & Co. : Quit screaming “Fake News”

Today on Fox News Sunday, the “conservative” outlet continued advancing the President’s agenda by asking the new WH communications director if the media is putting out “Fake news” to bring down the Trump administration. I’m speechless. If you turn on Fox News, you’ll hear something completely different from MSNBC, and even CNN. It’s as if they live in an alternate reality over there. They are not reporting objectively, as they are attempting to advance a Trumpian agenda. The biggest spokesperson for the President is in fact Sean Hannity himself, now that Bill O’Reilly is out. It’s not to say that … Continue reading Dear Trump & Co. : Quit screaming “Fake News”

Sean Hannity attacks the media – although he’s a member of it

Sean Hannity is back at it again with the Fake News attacks. He got into it with CNN’s Jake Tapper on twitter for, you guessed it, reporting (the job of a journalist). This one came out of Trump’s playbook : attack CNN on Twitter. It is baffling to think that one journalist, and yes, Sean Hannity is still a journalist, is attacking another for simply reporting. Calling CNN fake news will only fire up Hannity’s audience (a.k.a. the Trump base) even more about the media, which they do not trust already. Fox News and its hosts (with the exception of … Continue reading Sean Hannity attacks the media – although he’s a member of it

Sean Spicer is out!

Arguably the worst press secretary in White House history is out today, as Sean Spicer announced his resignation. This comes from an administration which has drastically reduced transparency when compared to its predecessor, as they have removed visitor logs, and have greatly reduced the number of on-camera press briefings as well as fewer press conferences from the President himself. Sean Spicer has become infamous for his short temper as well as his high failure rate when it comes to answering questions by the press corps truthfully. Spicer has denounced the press, along with the rest of the Trump administration. He … Continue reading Sean Spicer is out!

Even Trump disapproves of Jeff Sessions’ job as AG

In an interview with The New York Times (which Trump called failing), the President said that he would not have given Sessions the job as AG had he known that he would recuse himself from the Russia investigation.   “Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the President” “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild … Continue reading Even Trump disapproves of Jeff Sessions’ job as AG

Is the Democratic Party doomed?

In the era of #FakeNews, the Trump administration, and the frequent use of “liberal” as a pejorative, the rise of Breitbart and Alex Jones, as well as distrust towards the Democrats, can the party survive? The Democrats have lost all of the special elections since Trump was elected, and you could tell me that they were red districts all day long but due to gerrymandering, the Democrats have to win red districts. Most districts in the country are now red districts. Distrust in the government continues to grow over time, and many see the Democratic party (and primarily Hillary Clinton) … Continue reading Is the Democratic Party doomed?

The Republican base will never let go of support for the President. Ever.

He struggled in the polls during the general election, then went on to beat Hillary Clinton. Now, Donald Trump, President of the United States, is facing the lowest job approval rating of any president at this time since polling began. Ouch. However, the story among his base is different. According to the same poll, 82% of Republicans approve of the job that Trump is doing. The Trump base will see these poll numbers and simply push them off as coming from a “liberal” (used as a pejorative) news outlet, and even call it fake news. That is because the ride-or-die … Continue reading The Republican base will never let go of support for the President. Ever.
