I don’t even know where to start.
Sessions said, speaking on the blocking of Trump’s revised travel ban, “I really am amazed that a judge sitting on an island in the Pacific can issue an order that stops the president of the United States from what appears to be clearly his statutory and constitutional power,” therefore offending the entire state of Hawaii as well as many other Americans. That comment could be seen as miniscule when compared to other things he has done.
On May 10th, AG Sessions issued a memo which effectively revives the war on drugs. AG Holder released guidelines urging prosecutors to use light sentences regarding drug crimes, and Sessions reversed that policy.
The current Attorney General sent a letter to sanctuary cities basically threatening to take away their funding for supporting immigrants.
He also plans on rolling back nearly ALL Obama-era police reforms. This, in an era when there is an unprecedented amount of killings of unarmed black men by police officers.
Sessions is moving to let the DOJ once again use private prisons as well. There’s nothing wrong with profiting of off jail time, right?
And yes, he is going to stop monitoring troubled police agencies, because lives don’t matter of course!
These are just some of the things this man has done as Attorney General. Let’s take a look at his voting record:
This man, of all people, called the NAACP and ACLU “un-American”
Let’s review. Sessions supports the war on drugs as well as the war on crime. That, in my view, is completely un-American. Locking up fellow citizens over petty crimes, and disproportionately minority citizens is apparently more patriotic in his eyes than defending those citizens rights as the NAACP and ACLU do. I suppose that in Sessions’ America, it is perfectly fine to profit off of jail and send more people there. It must also be American to ban an entire religion from the country.
This man is evil. Plain and simple.
